I wanted to let you and your team know just how much I appreciate your new software. I signed on for your very first product not ever having had a Real Estate program before. I had heard some many things about Top Producer but never felt I could spend the money on that program. I never did have any one show me the program until late last year. By that time I had been a converted ACT user to your Residential Specialist program. I was satisfied with your program but - as we always do - we look at all options that can make us more productive. I was told by an agent that Top Producer would really help me, and that I should try it. I did. It took me several weeks to get my data converted from ACT - when I got the data back it did not convert in its entirety. I only had names, addresses, phone numbers, and I think that was about it. I was told that my data could not be converted because your program had so many fields to convert. No one told me this prior to my purchasing the product however. So there I was without my client history! That was very scary. I had to begin rebuilding cell phone numbers, fax numbers etc. I am a busy REALTOR trying to make this easy - so I began to get the idea quick that the product was not for me. Fortunately I did not remove Residential Specialist from my hard drive. It was safe. As I began to explore Top Producer I learned it could not create CMA's for multiple family homes, land, commercial and that I could not do my letters directly from my contact screen as I now do in your program. To do letters was a multiple step process. I want one button - not a multiple step process. In Residential Specialist I can just click on email, letter, memo, fax whatever and I get the format - I can do my own letter or a form letter if I choose, but it is right there for me. The thing I loved most about that one step process is not only did it create my letter for mailing or emailing - it saved a copy to my CLIENT HISTORY automatically. That is powerful stuff when you need to keep history notes. I love the fact that I can connect my mileage and expenses directly from Residential Specialist right through to EXPENSIBLES from my date book and activity section. I just mark off the meeting or "to do" the click on my Expenses tab and it takes me right into EXPENSIBLES (a Quicken program that adds on to ACT) - again one step. Perhaps the most significant item to me was the size of the working screen in Top Producer. I could not believe this was "the screen" I had to learn to live with, to work with, and to try to view hour by hour, day by day.After call for customer support I was advised indeed it was. The screen for those of you who don't know is about a 4x5 screen, like a recipe card. It sticks out in the middle of your desktop - you go from screen to screen to screen in this little box. I could not use it effectively. I was hunched over all the time looking and peering into this screen to see what it said. The system is complicated, you go back and forth again and again to get a simple task done. Your system is smooth, efficient and built for REALTOS who need quick action and a history of that action. I own a laptop with a 15" screen. Nice sized and workable. The only way I could see the Top Producer screen was to view it over my co-workers 21" desk top, Then it was blown up to a viewable size. This was the straw that broke the camels back. I called to return the product, and I am still waiting for my refund - all of this since the middle of February. I did not place any data on the new system, it was worthless and time consuming. I am looking so forward to your new offering. It can only be bigger and better - as you as asking for REALTOR input in your efforts. I appreciate that. If you get a CMA program in this package you will have a dynamite program. But don't bother if it does not address residential, multiple family, commercial, land etc. We are not all one kind of a Broker, some of us, a lot of us, work in the real world and have to do many types of properties. Two level, three level, homes etc. I cannot wait to begin a new adventure with your program. Your staff has been very helpful the few times I had a question on this first program, and they , and you have been more than supportive of my concerns over trying a new version. Our data bases are our living. We cannot afford down time due to a poorly designed program. Tell the customer up front if the data will work, if not tell them and gibe them the option to not even try a conversion . I think you will have a great year with this new product. Thanks for caring about REALTORS and trying to gain input from those using your product.
