RTM Icon Fix Directions

(You may want to print this out)

Directions Set #1

1.Please download the RTM ICON FIX UTILITY - simply click the blue link.

2. Click OPEN to the box that appears.

3. Click YES to the box that appears.

4. Click OK to the box that appears

5. Click UNZIP to the box that appears.

6. Click CLOSE to close the utility.

7. Check to see if the icons have appeared. If they have, then you are finished. If the icons have NOT appeared, please continue with the second set of directions below.

Directions Set #2 (FOR WINDOWS 2000, XP, and NT)

IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 95, 98, OR ME please skip to Directions Set #3

1. RIGHT CLICK on MY COMPUTER icon located on your desktop , or on your start menu.

2. from the menu that appears, select EXPLORE.

3. A new box appears. There is a left side and a right side of the screen.

4. On the left side of the screen, click the + to the left of your C:\ drive. A bunch of folders will appear (if there is a - to the left of the C:\ drive, please continue to the next step)

5. on the left side of the screen, scroll down to a folder named windows and click once on the yellow folder. This will change the right side of the screen.

6. There will be 5 icons on the right side of the screen. Click directly below all of the icons, and hold down the mouse button. drag the mouse up over the icons, as you drag, the icons will become highlighted. When all icons are highlighted, release the mouse button.

7. on your keyboard, press and hold down your CTRL key. Press and hold your C key. Release your C key. Release your CTRL key.

8. Minimize the explorer window.

9. now you should see your desktop.

10. click once on a blank place on your desktop.

11. press and hold down your CTRL key. Press and release your V key. Release your CTRL key.

12. the icons should now appear.

13. RIGHT click on the minimized explorer window.

14. SELECT CLOSE  from the menu that appears.

Directions Set #3 (FOR WINDOWS 95, 98, AND ME)

IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS 2000, XP or NT  please go up to Directions Set #2

1. RIGHT CLICK on MY COMPUTER icon located on your desktop , or on your start menu.

2. from the menu that appears, select EXPLORE.

3. A new box appears. There is a left side and a right side of the screen.

4. On the left side of the screen, click the + to the left of your C:\ drive. A bunch of folders will appear (if there is a - to the left of the C:\ drive, please continue to the next step)

5a. on the left side of the screen, scroll down to a folder named DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS and click once on the plus sign to the left of the yellow folder. This will show additional folders underneath.

5b. click the + to the left of ALL USERS.

5c. click the + to the left of START MENU.

5d. click the + to the left of PROGRAMS.

5e. click the Residential Transaction Manager folder. This will change the right side of your screen.

6. There will be 5 icons on the right side of the screen. Click directly below all of the icons, and hold down the mouse button. drag the mouse up over the icons, as you drag, the icons will become highlighted. When all icons are highlighted, release the mouse button.

7. on your keyboard, press and hold down your CTRL key. Press and hold your C key. Release your C key. Release your CTRL key.

8. Minimize the explorer window.

9. now you should see your desktop.

10. click once on a blank place on your desktop.

11. press and hold down your CTRL key. Press and release your V key. Release your CTRL key.

12. the icons should now appear.

13. RIGHT click on the minimized explorer window.

14. SELECT CLOSE  from the menu that appears.
