Residential Transaction Manager

Frequently Asked Questions

Presale Questions:

Do you have a demonstration of Act! 6?

Act! 6 has a 30 day free trial at http://www.act.com . Please note that the free trial of Act! 6 and the free trial of Residential Transaction Manager do not work with each other.

Does Residential Transaction Manager create contract forms?

Our product is designed for the beginning agent, giving a solid data and calendar management system and helping with some automation features. Contracts are an advanced feature that our program does not support.

Can you send me a copy of Residential Transaction Manager on a CD-ROM?

Thank-You for your interest in our products. At this time, We exclusively distribute our software via the

Internet. The download is actually quite short, even for a modem user.

If you are worried about losing the software, our installer file can be stored on your hard drive and copied on your backup program (you do backup your files, correct?). The reason we do not have CD's etc. is to keep prices a little lower (we don’t have to pay for the boxes, CD's shipping etc. etc. and when we have updates, we can send them right to you over the Internet.

Can you import my Top Producer or Agent 2000 database?

Residential Transaction Manager has an import and export map for both Top Producer 6 and Agent 2000. You may need the help of someone familiar with the Top Producer system to help you with the import, as the Top Producer database is very complicated. The import / export of your Top Producer database into ANY OTHER PROGRAM including Residential Transaction Manager will result in significant data loss, as it is impossible to export the entire database from Top Producer. At this time, we do not support import or export from a Top Producer 7I native file, however the system should be able to generate a TAB or COMMA delimited text file which our program can import. Expect significant data loss with the import / export from any and all versions of Top Producer.

I followed all of the instructions but when I opened my RTM Database it looked the same as my regular ACT database.

Here are two reasons why things may look the same:

1. Important Install Directions has not been completed

This is a yellow icon on your start menu or desktop "IMPORTANT INSTALL DIRECTIONS" it contains
several changes that need to be made so that you are able to use the RTM layouts and the RTM
database.

2. NON-RTM DATABASE being used with the RTM Layouts

The RTM layouts (the blue or green screens) are seperate and independent of the DATABASE, which
contains your data. The layouts and database are programmed to work together. But the layouts will miss
fields when you are working in another database (such as your old database) because the database
was not programmed to work with the layouts. Solution: IMPORT your OLD DATABASE into the RTM
database. (TO OPEN the rtm database, click the YELLOW RTM ICON on your desktop or start menu)

I made the changes to my computer, and now I am missing data entry fields, the field names are there, but the boxes to type the data are not there.

Here is a website that may help you with the "missing fields" problem you are experiencing:
